Deadly terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility for a cowardly terrorist attack in Kashmir, in which 26 CRPF soldiers have been martyred.
In one of the biggest terrorist attacks in recent past, 26 CRPF jawans have been martyred in Awantipur in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
This was a fidayeen attack in which a car which filled with explosives was struck against a vehicle which was a part of the convoy of several vehicles that was returning from Jammu to Kashmir. The convoy was having soldiers who were returning to their duties from their homes.
A spokesperson has identified the driver (of JeM) who carried out the fidayeen attack as Aadil Ahmad alias Waqas, who is a commando from Gundi Bagh, Pulwama.
Adil led prayers in local mosque. He was a dropout from school and was working as a mason. Adil alias Waqas of Kakapora in South Kashmir can be seen in a video, in which he is sitting in the backdrop of flag of JeM, brandishing several sophisticated automatic rifles. He started the video saying, “by the time this video reaches you, I will be in heaven, I have spent one year as a militant with Jaish-e-Mohammad and this is my last message for the people of Kashmir.”
Adil boasts the attacks against India which included — ICA18 hijacking, 2001 Parliament attack, Nagrota attack, Uri attack, and Pathankot Indian Air Force base attack etc. He said that jihad in Kashmir cannot be weakened by the killing of a few terrorists.
He expressed his wish that people from Jammu and Central Kashmir must also join them for the fight against terror.
It is being said that Adil Hussain Dar, from Gundibagh, Pulwama, went missing on 19th March 2016 with his friends — Tauseef and Waseem. Tauseef’s elder brother Manzoor Ahmad Dar was a militant who was killed in 2016.
Terrorist attack of this scale has raised several questions; this has also given a chance to media and politicians of opposing parties to blame and attack the government. BJP government is being blamed even for their alliance with Mehbooba Mufti led Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Now, BJP will have to re-strategize their role in Kashmir. They were praised for surgical strike against Pakistan. Something of that sort has to be replicated again to revenge this cowardly attack.
If the BJP fails to avenge this attack, it may be regarded that they have failed to protect the nation from terrorist attacks. Also, opposition parties have blamed BJP that they have failed to ensure safety of soldiers and people of Kashmir. This issue will be raised before elections and BJP will have to answer it before people of India.
