Delhi’s former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit has denied the claim made by the present Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal that he is tired of trying to convince Congress for an alliance.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit has rejected the claim made by current Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the latter said that AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) leaders were tired of trying to convince the Congress to form an alliance with the party. According to Arvind, if this alliance is made BJP will end up losing all the Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and will get a setback in the Lok Sabha polls in the national capital.
Soon after Kejriwal gave this statement, Sheila Dixit said, “Tired of trying to convince Congress for an alliance, but they refuse to understand: I want to ask Arvind Kejriwal on what basis has he said this? He has not talked about it even once”.
Sheila said this in reaction to the statement made by Kejriwal at a public rally near Jama Masjid,” We are tired of convincing the Congress to form an alliance, but they do not understand. If there is an alliance, the BJP will lose all the seven Lok Sabha seats it currently has in Delhi,” the AAP national convener said.
“I don’t know what they have in their minds,” he said about an alliance with the Congress and alleged that it was “weakening” the AAP in Delhi, drawing a comparison with the SP-BSP combine in UP.
Kejriwal attacked the BJP saying that the democratic setup of India will go for a toss if the BJP comes to power once again. He also alleged that even the constitution of the country will be under trouble. He also blamed the Congress saying that they have ‘more or less ruled out’ an alliance with AAP.
Earlier this month, Kejriwal had told reporters that the Congress has “more or less” ruled out an alliance with the AAP for the Lok Sabha polls. In his attack on PM Modi and Shah, the AAP leader alleged that if the BJP returned to power, the country would lose its Constitution and democracy.
He told the gathering at his rally that they must vote for AAP, because this party had the power to throw out the BJP from center by replacing Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
In his opinion, “Those who have any feeling for the country should defeat them at any cost in 2019.”
There is going to be an interesting contest in Delhi, as BJP, Congress and AAP will be up against each other in a three party fight. All these three parties have a strong base in Delhi and it’s not going to be easy for any of them to come out victorious.
