Sarbananda Sonowal: – Sonowal is an Indian politician who has been Chief Minister of Assam since 2016. He is the 14th Chief Minister of Assam.
Himanta Biswa Sarma: – Himanta is undoubtedly is one of the most powerful political leaders in Assam. He represents Bharatiya Janata Party from August 2015. His political capabilities are well acknowledged by the BJP, has sworn in as Cabinet Minister on 24 May 2016.
Tarun Gogoi: – One of the most powerful political leaders in Assam, Gogoi was the Chief Minister of Assam from the year 2001 to 2016. A leader of Indian National Congress, Gogoi led the party to a record three consecutive electoral victories in Assam. He completed 15 consecutive years as Chief Minister of Assam.
Prafulla Kumar Mahanta: – Former Chief Minister of Assam, Prafulla had served for two terms and was the President of the Asom Gana Parishad a major political party in the Indian State of Assam.
Hiteswar Saikia: – Saika was the Chief Minister of Assam for two terms. He was a senior leader of the Indian National Congress.
Sarat Chandra Sinha: – Sarat Chandra was a leader of the Indian National Congress and has served as the Chief Minister of Assam. A true Gandhian, Sarat belonged to rare breed of value based politics who sacrificed his life for welfare of the downtrodden people. He was one of the most popular political leaders in Assam.
Bimala Prasad Chaliha: – An active Independence activist, Bimala Prasad was the leader of the Indian National Congress and also a freedom Fighter that was put behind bars in Jorhat jail in 1942. One of the most popular and powerful political leaders in Assam, Bimala has served as the Chief Minister of Assam for three full terms. He was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1971.
Gopinath Bordoloi: – Gopinath was the Chief Minister of Assam before Independence and later Chief Minister of the Indian state of Assam. A follower of Gandhian principle, he was an Independence Activist. He was one of the most famous political leaders of Assam at his political tenure.
