All India Trinamool Congress: – This is a political party based in West Bengal, and was founded on 1 January 1998 as a breakaway faction of the Indian National Congress. The founder and head of the party is the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. It is currently the fourth largest party in Lok Sabha with 34 seats. Political ideologies followed are: Regionalism, Nationalism, Secularism, Socialism, and Anti-Communism. The Ruling party TMC certainly stands as the most famous political parties in West Bengal.
All India Forward Bloc: – It’s a left-wing nationalist political party which has emerged as a faction within Indian National Congress in 1939 in leadership of Subhash Chandra Bose. Political ideologies followed are: Left-Wing nationalism, Socialism, Anti-Imperialism, Marxism.
Gorkha Janmukti Morcha: – This is a registered unrecognized political party which initiates the ideology for a separate state of Gorkhaland within India out of Districts in the north of West Bengal.
Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist): – The party was formed by the All India Coordination Committee of Communist Revolutionaries (AICCCR) in 1969. Political ideologies followed are Marxism-Leninism.
Gorkha National Liberation Front: – This is a political party in the Darjeeling District of West Bengal, India. The party was formed in 1980 by Subhash Ghisingh wherein their demand is to get a separate state named Gorkhaland within India. Political ideology followed is Gorkhaland Autonomy.
Amra Bangali: – This is a radical Bengali political party in India which was founded by a renowned philosopher Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. The formation of party was initiated in reaction against anti-Bengali rhetoric, where Bengali’s were referred as infiltrators in North-east India.
Bharatiya Janata Party: – As in comparison to Communist Party and Indian National Congress Bharatiya Janata Party is not considered as the major political party in the Indian State of West Bengal. On the contrary, BJP is creating an impact in the state by uniting Hindus which witnessed growth in Jihadi activities and which had a history of widening the communal divide with its own confused identity politics by the Ruling Party. BJP in West Bengal is certainly making room for itself and in return the response of the ruling party has not helped much to the Mamata government. Gradually BJP is turning out to be the most famous political parties of West Bengal.
Indian National Congress: – The West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee is the unit of the Indian National Congress for the state of West Bengal.
