Jharkhand Lok Sabha Election 2014- An Overview
In the Lok Sabha 2014 elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got a magnanimous victory in Jharkhand by bagging 12 seats out of total 14 seats. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha the most prominent party of the state could hardly get two seats in the state. Retaining it’s winning track in Assembly Elections of 2014, BJP again grabbed most number of seats and proclaimed itself as a standalone party in the state. BJP choose a nontribal representative to be the Chief Minister of the state.
It is unlikely for other parties to make inroads with a majority in the state of Jharkhand. BJP has won both central and state level elections in the state in 2019; there is no doubt about the stronghold of the party in the state politics. The state of fragile politics with lots of issues like Naxalism would offer a lot of drama with a lot of parties lurking for power, during the upcoming elections.
