List of Chief Ministers of India

The election of Chief Minister and the appointment of Chief Minister are two dimensional aspects. The election of Chief Minister by legislature implies that the party which gets majority seats in Legislature elects a leader to be appointed as a Chief Minister. Governor does not have any choice in this matter.

Following are the list of Chief Ministers in India.

State:

Andhra Pradesh: – The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is N. Chandrababu Naidu.

He represents Kuppam as his Constituency. N.Chandrababu Naidu is Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh since 2014. He belongs to Telugu Desam Party.

Arunachal Pradesh: – Pema Khandu is the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.

Pema Khandu represents Mukto Assembly Constituency located in Tawang District. He represents Bharatiya Janata Party.

Assam: – Sarbananda Sonowal is the Chief Minister of Assam.

He represents the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha Constituency and belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Bihar: – The Chief Minister of Bihar is Nitish Kumar.

He contested from two places and got elected from Nalanda but lost from Barh. He belongs to Janata Dal (United) political party.

Chandigarh: – Manohar Lal Khattar is the head of the Union Territory, Chandigarh.

Chhattisgarh: – Raman Singhis the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.

He represents Rajnandgaon as his Lok Sabha Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli: – Ashish Kundra is the administrator of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

Daman and Diu: – Ashish Kundra is the administrator of the Union Territory, Daman and Diu.

New Delhi: – Arvind Kejriwal Is the Chief Minister of New Delhi, the National Capital Territory.

He has been elected from New Delhi constituency. He belongs to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Goa: – Manohar Parrikar is the Chief Minister of Goa. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Goa. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Gujarat: – Vijay Rupani is the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

He was elected as CM of Gujarat from the Legislative Assembly of Rajkot West. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Haryana: – Manohar Lal Khattar is the Chief Minister of Haryana.

He represents from the Karnal constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Himachal Pradesh: – Jai Ram Thakur is the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

He represents Seraj (Vidhan Sabha Constituency). He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Jammu and Kashmir: – The post of the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir is vacant as the Governor’s rule is in function in the state. Narinder Nath Vohra is the current governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jharkhand: – Raghubar Das is the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

He represents Jamshedpur East (Vidhan Sabha Constituency). He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Karnataka: – H. D. Kumaraswamy is the newly elected Chief Minister of Karnataka.

He represents Channapatna.  He belongs to the Janata Dal (Secular).

Kerala – Pinarayi Vijayan is the Chief Minister of Kerala.

He is elected from Dharmadom constituency. He is the member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Lakshadweep: – The Union Territory of Lakshwadeep is under the administration of Vijay Kumar.

Madhya Pradesh: – Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the Chief Minister of Madhya PradeshHe is the most famous Chief Minister in India.

He represents Budhni, Vidisha as his electoral Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Maharashtra: – Devendra Fadnavis is the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. One of the most popular Chief Minister, he is the Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for Nagpur South West. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Manipur: – N. Biren Singh is the Chief Minister of Manipur.

He represents Heingang as the electoral constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Meghalaya: – Conrad Sangma is the Chief Minister of Meghalaya. He is one of the youngest Chief Ministers in India.

He represents Tura as his constituency. He belongs to the National People’s Party.

Mizoram: – Lal Thanhawla is the Chief Minister of Mizoram.

He represents Serchhip as his electoral constituency. He belongs to the Indian National Congress.

Nagaland: – Neiphiu Rio is the Chief Minister of Nagaland.

NORTHERN ANGAMI-II is his constituency. He belongs to the National Democratic Progressive Party.

Odisha: – Naveen Patnaik is the Chief Minister of Odisha.

Hinjili is Patnaik’s constituency. He belongs to Biju Janata Dal.

Puducherry: – V. Narayanasamy is the Chief Minister of Puducherry.

Nellithope is his constituency. He belongs to the Indian National Congress.

Punjab: – Amarinder Singh is the Chief Minister of Punjab.

He represents Amritsar Lok Sabha Constituency. He belongs to the Indian National Congress.

Rajasthan: – Vasundhara Raje is the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. She is the most popular woman Chief Minister in India. She is the Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Jhalrapatan.

She belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Sikkim: – Pawan Kumar Chamling is the Chief Minister of Sikkim. His electoral Constituency is Sikkim.

He belongs to the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF).

Tamil Nadu: – Edappadi K. Palaniswami is the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He is the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu.

He belongs to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).

Telangana: – Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao is the Chief Minister of Telangana.

He represents Gajwel Assembly Constituency. He belongs to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Tripura: – Biplab Kumar Deb is the Chief Minister of Tripura. One of the youngest CM of India he represents Banamalipur (West Tripura) as his electoral constituency.

Uttar Pradesh: – Yogi Adityanath is the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Uttarakhand: – Trivendra Singh Rawat is the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.

He represents Doiwala as his constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

West Bengal: – Mamata Banerjee is the Chief Minister of West Bengal. She is one of the most dynamic woman politicians in India.

She represents Bhabanipur as her Constituency. She belongs to All India Trinamool Congress.
