Political Parties in Maharashtra

Indian National Congress: – The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (M.P.C.C) is the unit of The Indian National Congress in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Congress is also major political parties in Maharashtra.

Bharatiya Janata Party: – BJP is one of the two major political parties in India along with INC. After 2014 general and assembly elections the Bharatiya Janata Party has been country’s largest political party in terms of representation in the national Parliament. The Bharatiya Janata Party has also been flourishing in State Assemblies. Currently BJP in Maharashtra is in majority. Out of 288 seats BJP with alliance partner has 122-63 seats respectively. BJP is one of the most powerful parties in Maharashtra.

Communist Party of India: – Maharashtra is a state that has a long legacy of the Communist Movement. Communist Party was a splinter faction of Central Re-organization Committee, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist). Communist party is a regional political party in Maharashtra.

All India Trinamool Congress: – All India Trinamool Congress is a political party based in West Bengal but has spread its wings nationally. In a development that can have repercussions on Maharashtra politics, TMC in Maharashtra is keen on roping in BJP ex-ally Shiv Sena to take on BJP in Maharashtra and nationally in 2019 elections.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena: – Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is a regional political party in Maharashtra based in Maharashtra. This party was formed after factions with Shiv Sena. The party supremo is Raj Thackeray. Political ideology followed by the party is Marathi regionalism. MNS is also one of the famous political parties in Maharashtra after its antic political outcry for sons of soil.

Shiv Sena: – Shiv Sena is a far-right political party in Maharashtra. The regional political party in Maharashtra was formed after a movement in Mumbai where the main agenda was getting most preferential treatment to Maharashtrians over migrants to the city. Political ideologies followed are Hindutva, Hindu Nationalism, Economic nationalism, Ultra nationalism.

Nationalist Congress Party: – The Nationalist Congress Party is a National level political party in India. The political party is a result of faction of some of the leaders of congress from Congress.

National People’s Party: – The National People’s Party is a national-level political party based in Maharashtra as well. Political ideologies followed are Indian Nationalism, Regionalism, and Tribal Issues.
