A Democratically elected body in the name of Government of Pondicherry governs the Union Territory of Pondicherry (India). And it’s Chief Minister and other leaders runs the government functionary of the Union Territory.
V. Venkatasubha Reddiar Nettapacom: – Venkatasubha was the second and the fourth Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Pondicherry. He represented Congress Party. He is considered to be one of the architects of the freedom struggle movement against French.
M.O.H. Farook Calapeth: – Farook was three times Chief Minister of Pondicherry. He was the youngest Chief Minister of any state of India. He was also elected thrice to the Lok Sabha from Pondicherry. He indeed stands as one of the most famous political leaders of Pondicherry.
M.D.R. Ramachandran Mannadipet: – Ramachandran has served as Chief Minister of the Union Territory of India twicefrom 1980 to 1983 and from 1990 to 1991. He was appointed as the Speaker of the Pondicherry Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2006.
V. Vaithilingam Nettapakkam: – He is the Speaker of the Pondicherry Legislative Assembly and also the former Chief Minister of Pondicherry. He has served twice as CM of Pondicherry, from 1991 to 1996 and from 2008 to 2011. He is one of the most famous political leaders of Pondicherry.
R.V. Janakiraman Nellithope: – Janakiraman has served as the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Pondicherry from May 26 1996 to March 18 2000. He marks himself as one of the top 10 famous political leaders of Pondicherry.
P. Shanmugam Yanam: – Shanmugam was the Chief Minister of Pondicherry for a year, in two stints of six months each, in 2000-2001. He was a three time Member of Parliament from Pondicherry, elected to the Assembly from Yanam.
N. Rangaswamy Kadirkamam: – As the most famous political leaders of Pondicherry, Kadirkamam served as the Chief Minister of Pondicherry on May 16 2011. He had earlier served as Chief Minister in 2001 and had continued for seven years.
V. Narayanasamy: – He is an Indian Politician who is serving as a Chief Minister of the South Indian Union Territory of Pondicherry since June 2016. He is the 10th Chief Minister of Pondicherry.
