Ahead of Lok Sabha polls Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (March 28) addressed a political rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, where he slammed the opposition parties and especially Congress over the development and progress which the nation witnessed in Modi-led BJP government and also claimed that the opposition failed to fulfill their promises and deceived innocent people.
While naming the achievements of the ruling government, PM Modi said, “Zameen ho, Aasmaan ho ya fir Antariksh, surgical strike ka saahas aaapke is chowkidar ne dikhaya hai (This chowkidar has shown the courage to carry out the surgical strike, be it on land, in the sky or space).”
Slamming the previous government (Congress), PM Modi said they were masters in making false promises and always failed when it comes to fulfill it, but this government (BJP) never cheats people. The present government delivered their promises what were made, and the nation knows it.
“I will give an account of my work but at the same time seek an account from my opponents. Sabka hisab hoga, baari baari se hoga, tabhi to hisab barabar hoga (Everyone will be accounted for, one by one, only then justice will be served),” PM Modi said.
PM Modi while addressing the rally in Meerut said, “Congress has cheated the people of India for 72 years, and it is one of the major reason for the prevalent poverty in the country. He further said, “Congress can never understand the sentiments of people. The way Congress behaved with the Armed Forces, they repeated the same behavior with farmers and the poor people. Congress is repeating its promise of ‘Garibi hatao’, which it had promised four decades ago. This is the biggest proof of Congress’ lie.
“When we entered the homes of the terrorists and killed them then is it right to question valour of our jawans? Is it right to abuse our Army Chief? Will people forgive those who give anti-national statements just to become a hero in Pakistan?”,PM Modi added.
Earlier on Wednesday (March 27) when PM Modi announced the great success of ‘Mission Shakti’ to the nation through a televised address, Congress President Rahul Gandhi took a jibe over it saying “Happy Theatre Day”, while TMC chief Mamata Banerjee called it a “limitless drama”.
Apart from Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee, BSP chief Mayawati too slammed PM, saying the Prime Minister violated the Model Code of Conduct by addressing the nation ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
