Political Movement in Andhra Pradesh

Jai Andhra movement:

Jai Andhra movement is political movement in Andhra state in the year 1972 for the injustice felt by in Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions. Leaders like , Jupudi Yegnanarayana, Vasantha Nageswara Rao, Kakani Venkataratnam, Gouthu Latchanna, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Tenneti Viswanadham, RajaSagi Suryanarayana Raju, B. V. Subba Reddy, N. Srinivasulu Reddy has played vital role during this Andhra movement. Nearly 400 people sacrificed their lives for this Andhra movement. Main opinion of all the people was development is taking place only around Hyderabad. Gouthu Latchanna was a person who took initiative for Jai Andhra movement started in Andhra University demanding the division of Andhra Pradesh.

Samaikya Andhra movement:

Samaikya Andhra Movement was started against Telangana movement. Samaikya Andhra movement was a political movement in Andhra Pradesh started to prevent the Telangana districts of the state to form into separate state. Samaikya Andhra movement was supported by all the students, government employees, advocates and many other occupations people in the regions of Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra. This is started when the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandra Shekar Rao commonly known as KCR has dons 11 day fast for separate Telangana. The movement continued until President of India announced Separate Telangana state on 2nd Jun 2014.

Andhra special status movement:

Andhra Special Status Movement was started on 26th January 2017 demanding special category status which was promised by BJP during 2014 election campaign at Tirupathi. On 20th February 2014 a debate has taken place in Rajya Sabha on A.P. Reorganisation Act where Prime Minister Manmohan singh said “extended to the Successor State of Andhra Pradesh for a period of five year” orally and this is base for special status claim.

After the bifurcation of United AP separated Andhra Pradesh has lost huge revenue due to Hyderabad being a capital of newly formed state Telangana. It has not been resolved until now.

Telangana movement:

Telangana Movement is a political movement initiated in order to form separate state for the districts of Telangana from the pre existing state Andhra Pradesh. After several years of agitation by the  people in Telangana finally on 2nd June 2014  Telangana was formed as separate state being Hyderabad as its capital.
