Political Parties in Bihar

There are many famous political parties in Bihar which had been in a shuffling government in the past years. The each party which formed the government in Bihar has had its own identity or was in an alliance with the broader pictured political parties.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD): – RJD is largely based in Bihar, one of the most famous political parties in Bihar; RJD was founded by Laluprasad Yadav. The ideologies followed by the party are values of social justice, secularism, and equality. Lalu is the Chairperson as well as the leader of the party in Lok Sabha.

Janata Dal (United) (JDU): – JD (U) is considered to be the centre-left political party and has its strong political base in Bihar. Again, one of the most popular political parties in Bihar, JD (U) is in alliance with BJP for the last 17 years and is a major component of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The three ideologies of the Janata Dal (United) are secularism, socialism and integral humanism. Sharad Yadav is the Chairperson of the party.

Indian National Congress: – The INC in Bihar is referred as Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC). One of the popular parties in Bihar, it has various other political sections like Bihar Pradesh Youth Congress (BPYC) and Bihar Pradesh Congress INTUC.

Bharatiya Janata Party: – BJP has its own considerate strength in Bihar, and the state President of the party is Mangal Pandey. They have various frontal organizations which marks BJP as one of the most powerful political parties in Bihar.

LokJanshakti Party: – LokJanshakti Party was founded in 2000 after a split from JD (U). The party is headed by Ram Vilas Paswan and now the party is in alliance with BJP-led NDA.

Bharatiya Jan Congress: – BJC is a political party in Bihar, which is run by former Chief Minister of Bihar Jagannath Mishra.

Bihar Vikas Party: – BJP Rajya Sabha MP Janardan Yadav founded the party in 1999.

KisanViikas Party: – A small party in Bihar, it was formed as a splinter group from the Communist Party of India.

RashtrawadiKisanSangathan: – The political party was founded by Brahmeshwar Singh, the founder of the RanvirSena.

Samajwadi Krantikarisena: – The party was formed by Anand Mohan Singh in 1980, where the primary objective of the party was to fight against the reservation quotas for lower castes.

SampurnaVikas Dal: – On 20 October 2003, Ranjan Prasad Yadav formed the party.
