European political organizations have most of the majority or any major political parties in Europe who aligns themselves. Following are the 13 of legally recognized by the European Union as political parties at the European Level.
-European People’s Party (EPP):- This is a transnational political party comprising of other political parties and not individuals. This is a European Political Party.
–Party of the European left (PEL):- This party is an association in operational functions of Democratic Socialist and Communist political parties in the European Union and European countries.
–European Alliance for Freedom (EAF):- Founded in late 2010, this political party is a pan-European political party of right wing Eurosceptic.
–Party of European Socialists (PES):- This is a social-democratic European political party.
-Alliance for Direct Democracy in Europe (ADDE):- This European Political Party was founded in 2014, which is a combination of parties belonging to Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy (EFDD) in the European Parliament.
-Alliance of European National Movements (AENM):- This party was formed in Budapest on 24 October 2009 by a number of ultranationalist and far-right parties from countries in Europe.
-Alliance for Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE):- Founded on 26 March 1976, it’s a European Political Party which is active mainly in European Union inclusive of 60 National level Liberal parties from across Europe.
-European Democratic Party (EDP):- This again is a European political party which was initiated on 16 April 2004, in favor of European Integration. This party was formally acknowledged on 9 December 2004.
-EUDemocrats (EUD):- This is formerly known as Eurosceptic, currently known as Europeans United for Democracy- Alliance for a Europe of Democracies. This is self-described eurorealist alliance of parties and movements from 15 European Countries. Operates as a Transnational party.
-European Green Party (EGP):- Occasionally it’s referred as European Greens that operates as a federation of political parties across Europesupporting Green politics.
-European Free Alliance (EFA):- It’s a European political party coalition which consists of various regionalist political parties in Europe.
-European Christian Political Movement (ECPM):- A political party at European level which jointly unites national parties across Europe which shares Christian democratic politics.
-Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists (AECR):- This is a European political party which is conservative and Eurosceptic. The party promotes conservative and economically liberal principles.
-Movement for a Europe of Nations and Freedom (MENF):- This is an alliance of European political parties founded in 2014, which is a group in the European Parliament is Europe of Nations and Freedom.
Elections in Europe
The General Elections listed are for the government of each jurisdiction, which helps determine the Prime Minister and makeup of a Legislative in a Parliamentary Democracy or the President and then the legislature in a system whereseparate votes are taken for different tiers of government. Most of the Jurisdictions witness General Elections between three to five years, where Presidential Elections may take 6 to 7 years. But the Constitution of the Country ensures a fixed timing for elections to be held. Some constitutions can require Parliaments to elect the Head of State under threat of dissolution ex. (Greece). In most countries the election for the representative assembly determines the government.
