Populous welfare scheme likely to help BJP

Yogi Adityanath led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh has taken the decision to raise the amount of pension being given to disabled, aged and destitute women. The amount has been raised from Rs.400 to Rs.500 per month.

What is noteworthy in this scheme is that those who participate in Ram-leelas have also become eligible for this pension scheme. Sadhus (Hindu seers and priests) too will be covered under this welfare scheme. Though this proposal is in preliminary stage, it is likely to be finalized and announced at the kumbh mela.

Sadhus who are not getting any benefit due to lack of awareness or since they don’t have the much needed documents are going to be covered through camps. However, opposition parties have accused the Yogi government of using this scheme to woo voters of a particular community.

Many crores of pilgrims have visited or are likely to visit the Kumbh mela at Prayagraj, kind of arrangements made in the Kumbh mela are unprecedented and many millions have thanked and complimented the Yogi government for making such magnanimous provisions for those who attend the mega festival.

The Uttar Pradesh government may be branded as communal by its rivals, but it has managed to win the hearts of people by making incredible arrangements for a gathering of such a huge scale.
