Every time a presidential election rolls around it seems as if America wakes up from a deep sleep. For months we people are engulfed in a never ending wave of political rhetoric. We hear about it on the radio, watch it on TV, we see it on the internet, billboards, and bumper stickers.
Huge amounts of money are spent during the presidential campaign by both sides in hopes of gaining an advantage. Presidential elections are one of the most publicized and expensive events in America today. Candidates, donors, and volunteers all work countless hours and funnel endless amounts of funds into presidential elections.
From the first contested election of John Adams in 1796 to present day, these elections have evolved in candidate’s relationship with donors and funding and their campaigning strategies. With the increase of modernized technology in America, especially in 20th and 21st centuries, directly helps to carry forward the campaign strategies and spread it quite easily among the mass. Since earlier times presidential election has been held after every four years but this 2016 us presidential election has been one of the most interesting cycles in the recent history.
The democrats offered two major candidates. One of the candidates, Hillary Clinton was a long time Democrat politician. She is an American politician who was the First Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001, U.S. Senator from New York from 2001 to 2009, 67th United States Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, and the Democratic Party’s nominee for President of the United States in the 2016 election. Clinton’s commanding delegate lead makes her the presumptive democratic candidate.
The top candidates in the republican field changed several times and included non- politician’s Ben Carson and Donald trump. In this election a completion was going through between Hillary Clinton and Donald trump however interestingly trump grab the victory and became the president of us. This is interesting because until the current elections session, Clinton and trump were not rivals of any sort. They do not have a history of personal bitterness. For instance they met in different social gathering or some wedding party. However their political rivalry cropped up after this recent election. Now both the candidates are openly critical about their opponent’s qualifications for the presidency. There has been various violence too especially at trump rallies. Clinton was the first female major party candidate for president. She was favorite for democratic nomination.
Donald trump began his campaigns one of the most polarizing candidates from either party. Trump policy positions are much more difficult to identify than Clinton’s. However few section common mass declared it to be one of the unexpected win. Well now time will say how well he will govern US and excel in all most every arena.
